Some spiritualist a very fortunate to be born in families were they embrace tradition and African spiritual beliefs. Others are less fortunate and should quickly learn to accept that being born in a family that doesn’t relate to your spiritual path doesn’t mean that you are lost or an outcast.
Our spirits became broken the day we announced to our loved ones that we had a calling. Their negative reactions are the reason we carry around broken spirits.
Going through initiation helps but it doesn’t completely fix your broken spirit, because of the way you see other initiates being supported by their families and relatives.
I have had many initiates crying to me “Baba I feel so alone and broken every time I see so and so’s family visiting and giving them support and I am asking myself why can’t my family be this understanding and loving”
It hurts a lot…too much, to see your spiritual child being in that position because you know very well how it feels. I have been there since day one ephehlweni, I suffered verbal abuse and threatening calls from my family and relatives. I was disowned for answering my calling. My Baba tried her best to counsel me but watching my spiritual sisters being supported by their families did not make things better. I felt worse
I was very… very angry and resentful towards my folks. I cried and lamented almost every day for one week.
This made me a very hard-hearted person. But again it made me so determined to follow instructions and make my baba happy for besides my husband… who was then boyfriend…, she was my only next of kin who understood and supported me.
Just when I thought things were better, I had two people who loved and supported me, the last blow happened when my baba was removed and taken away from me…all hell broke loose.
I became so bitter...so angry. I started hating everybody that followed the religion of my family. “This religion created a rift between us” I would say.
“Only if my family would understand me, only if they could give me a chance to show them how this work”. I wished they all suffer spiritual calling so they can feel where I was standing", that was what was going on through my mind at that time.
Forgetting that they too have their own callings, and they were busy pursuing them while I was there worrying and lamenting.
They had a united front because both their calling and path were related. while my calling was diverting me to a different path which according to them was barbaric or evil.
The problem was that all my life I was walking with them on that same path, and now that I was at the crossroads and about to turn either left or right, while they continue straight, it became painful to all of us and they conclude that I was either becoming a rebel, being forward, lost, confused or either influenced by something/one.
I, on the other hand, thought they were mean, jealous, ganging up against me for no reason and being evil. How can the whole clan come down on me like this, like they never loved me to start with…? I wondered.
This is human nature. The way we react to change or loss differs.
It take time for a person to understand that we came to this world alone and will go back to the land of spirits alone.
That as an adult you do not need anybody’s approval or permission in decision making.
And you do not have to explain yourself to anyone. And no person has the right to decide another person's destiny.
If your calling requires that you be alone but you choose to turn to others for happiness and approval you will turn into a puppet.
WHAT DOES A BROKEN SPIRIT DOES TO YOU?
It cause:
Anxiety, dread, apprehension, panic, fear of the future, Lack of joy and happiness, bad luck, misfortunes and financial blockages, hatred, blocked dreams, love & relationship problems, lack of emotions, feeling empty, being opened to spiritual attack, and etc.
now you don't need that...
HOW TO HEAL A BROKEN OR SHOCKED SPIRIT?
Beloved… as a healer you cannot continue carrying a negative spirit, it is time to let go.
· Let go of your past
· Release grudges
· Release hatred and resentment. Hating those who hurt you will give them power over your life. You carry them in the back of your mind so much that they become powerful over you, you on the other hand become a victim of misfortunes.
· Once you release haters, you end up forgetting about their existence, it doesn’t matter, they don’t matter, they do not exist, you do.
· Don’t expect people to understand you, some do not understand their own self or paths, why must they understand yours? do you understand yourself?
· Know that you came to this world with a different assignment, it can never be similar to that of your friend or family member.
· Pleasing people will make them happy but what about you…are you happy? Time is precious, spent it making yourself happy, others can follow.
· We are not of the same path therefore we will never always agree, our paths will never merge, not unless you or they jump ship, which is highly impossible for we do not choose our spiritual obligations, they are decided by our gods before we are created.
· You are the master of your destiny, the one in control of your life, you know which direction to go already, just trust in your personal god who called you.
· Instead of wasting your energy pleasing people who do not support your calling, pursuing their approval and trying to make them understand, why don’t you invest this energy into your spiritual work? Beloved…this work needs a lot of energy so please be stingy with it.
· Give yourself love, and space. Cut those puppet strings, accept yourself and the path you are called into, it is the best, no one else’s is.
· You are not a victim, you are not vulnerable, you are not evil, and you are not inferior! did you know that there are some of your relatives who wish this calling was theirs? they do not sleep at night plotting how to block your connection? during the day they pretend as if they do not like your path...
· Relax, take a deep breath, write, meditate, phahla, pray, chant, do kundalini yoga, get tantra massage, smile, and focus, take a walk, go to the gym, read a book by the lake or garden, whatever that will calm your mind do it.
· This people will never regard you as their own...you know why? Because your path is weird or “evil and demonic” according to them. They would smile but at the same time silently cursing you …you are the reason for their misfortunes! You are a witch. Why are you forcing the relationship, why can’t you just leave them alone, they wonder… is it because you want them closer so you can bewitch them well...well?
