Some spiritualist a very fortunate to be born in families were they embrace tradition and African spiritual beliefs. Others are less fortunate and should quickly learn to accept that being born in a family that doesn’t relate to your spiritual path doesn’t mean that you are lost or an outcast. Our spirits became broken the day we announced to our loved ones that we had a calling. Their negative reactions are the reason we carry around broken spirits. Going through initiation helps but it doesn’t completely fix your broken spirit, because of the way you see other initiates being supported by their families and relatives. I have had many initiates crying to me “Baba I feel so alone and broken every time I see so and so’s family visiting and giving them support and I am asking myself why can’t my family be this understanding and loving” It hurts a lot…too much, to see your spiritual child being in that position because you know very well how it feels.
